I was recently asked to participate in a podcast with one of my clients, James Lucas of GrapeCat. I asked what I needed to bring and if there was anything in particular I needed to be prepared for. His answer, in the casual James way, “Just your headphones, and make sure they work.” (Yes, James is very aware of my techno challenged personality.)
As the day approached I found myself wondering what we would talk about since James and I have had so many wonderful questions through our time working and networking together. I thought for sure he would even ask something about our recent dinner at the fabulous vegan restaurant in New Hope he and his lovely wife introduced us to. And yes, I worried about what to wear, I went out and bought new headphones so my hair wouldn’t get messed up, and I even asked my husband if what I had on would look good on camera. Imagine my surprise when I arrived to do the interview and there were only two microphones and a laptop set up.

P-O-D-C-A-S-T…no cameras necessary!
No, I did not let my surprise show and I’m not even sure I mentioned it to James. I laugh now that I think about it…whatever made me think I’d be on camera. I know a podcast is a recording, head in the clouds for sure. I guess we just talked so much about video and how it helps with SEO that my brain was in a different dimension altogether. Funny, right?
James made me feel very comfortable from the start and had prepared some wonderful questions that we went over briefly before starting and he even through in a few surprise questions. I appreciate him really expressing an interest in sharing the things he benefited from in our work together with his audience. Check out the wonderful intro he shared and the great interview on his site which can be heard at https://www.grapecat.com/blogs/podcast/118054277-interview-with-laura-templeton-from-30-second-success
