Video Marketing Rules: How to Win in a World Gone Video! by Lou Bortone is one of the best books I’ve ever read on marketing. I’ve been following Lou on social media for a few years and was really excited when he released his new book.

As many of you may have noticed, I’ve added more videos to my social media and my website in recent months. Much of this is thanks in part to Lou. I wanted to experience more of what my clients go through when making videos. I help them with their messaging, but I’ve always connected them with videographers or encouraged them to try Facebook Live.

I have to say, after reading Video Marketing Rules I am much more confident in my understanding of how video works and am really looking forward to helping clients get in front of the camera with confidence. Lou makes it easy! His simple style and tips for getting in front of your smartphone and webcam are easy to implement.

In Video Marketing Rules Lou shares tips, tools, and techniques for creating quality videos with your goals and objectives in mind. He does an amazing job of laying out the different reasons and types of videos, how to find your sweet spot and style, and how to leverage your videos to get the most out of them.

The book is divided into two parts: The 7 Stages of Video Marketing and The Practical Guide to Making Great Video. Each section is thoughtfully planned out and provides well organized information that can be implemented quickly and easily.

I personally came away with a deeper understanding of video and how simple it is to implement into your marketing plan to increase your visibility online faster than any content or email marketing campaign. I now have a list of videos for my website, my YouTube channel, and social media. And I’ve checked a few off already.
