I recently picked up The Go-Giver by Bob Burg and John David Mann. I have been following Bob for quite some time. I listen to his podcasts, tweet with him, and I am a genuine fan. So I thought it was about time that I read his book, after all I love what he is about…authentic giving.
Oh my goodness! I LOVED IT!! I read this great little book chock full of goodness in two days and that is only because I had things I needed to do or it would have been done in half a day. I absolutely love the simplicity of what Bob and John share in this book and how they delivered it with a truly powerful story.
Life changing passages, to say the least, can be found in this book. For the Mom-preneurs out there, this will mean the world to you when you read it. I once had someone ask me “Who’s going to hire you? What kind of skills do you have after being home all these years?” when I was considering re-entering the workforce after my kids started school. This book put this into perfect perspective and I put it out there on Facebook as soon as I read it.
My favorite passage, one that is now forever ingrained in my being, is about self-sabotage not out of fear of failure but of success. It totally spoke to both myself and my husband. The idea that there is a fear surrounding success may seem crazy but the way it is explained in this awesome little book makes so much sense! Even more powerful is the suggestion that we can decide not to live in this fear anymore.
I love The Go-Giver and the simplicity it offers for success in sales and in life. I highly recommend it for anyone in sales, actually I think everyone especially our kids should read this wonderful little book chock full of goodness. The world would be a different place if we all lived by “The Five Laws of Stratospheric Success” and for those, you will need to read The Go-Giver. (You didn’t expect me to give away the best part now, did you?)
If you want a copy, I will gladly mail you one, just let me know where via email.
