Staying connected through the holidays can help you hit the ground running when the New Year gets here. Think about different things that you can do just to help people remember you through the holiday season. Here are three simple tips that you can implement to help you stay connected.

1. Send a quick note, either through email or text.
Let them know that you’re thinking about them. Send words of encouragement for them to enjoy their holidays and tell them that you’re looking forward to seeing them again in the new year. I personally love texting a Bitmoji (get the app and create your avatar if you haven’t already) with holiday greetings. They are fun and I always get great responses. You can even add them to your signature for the next few weeks, just be sure to change it after the New Year!

2. Send a personal handwritten note.
Note cards are a wonderful way to break through all the monotony of the day that includes oodles of email, texts, and phone calls and all those other things that are pulling their attention in a million and one directions. Buy a box of “Happy New Year” cards or have your own made and send them out right before Christmas so they arrive right after when things are a little less hectic.

3. Schedule a fun event.
I have a friend who gathers a bunch of friends together for what they will call “big tip breakfast.” She invites a group of networking friends to get together for breakfast at a local restaurant. They each kick in an extra $20. Whoever waits on them that day, gets all the money in an envelope with a card thanking them for their wonderful service. Now, twenty dollars times five people, a one-hundred-dollar tip, is substantial. How about 10 people…$200 tip. It’s crazy, the amount of money that you can bless someone with when you bring a bunch of friends together and just enjoy time. The bonus of the good feeling you get when you give like this is awesome!! “Give” it a try!
