Gotta love tech! It’s the simple things that make me happy! Is it just me, or does everyone get super excited when your computer pops up a message, “Hey, didn’t you forget something?”
My computer may seem smarter than me, but I was super excited today when I received a message while working in gmail. It reminded me to add the attachments after I had already hit send. It referenced the fact that I had written “I’ve attached” in the body of the message but hadn’t attached anything yet.
“Are you sure you want to send?” Of course, not and I love you were the words that came out of my mouth. Do you know how many times I’ve had to send a second email with “Oops, forgot the attachment.” in the subject line?
Most of the time it’s because my brain is working faster than my hands and I’m already onto the next thing I need to do. Multitasking isn’t always a good thing, especially when I feel like a dope as soon as I hit the send key.
Leave it to Google to add this wonderful feature to gmail! I am so super excited about this! One more step in the direction of progress. Woohoo! Thanks Google for helping me out here!
Technology is a wonderful thing. I am sure we could all live without it, and some might ask “Who would want to?” Well, sometimes me. I just need to turn it off to hear my own thoughts and refocus. Do you feel that way?
It’s easy to spend the day behind my computer ignoring the outside world and what’s happening. I can get so wrapped up in the details of my business that I forget to step back and see the bigger picture. Taking time out, taking time to connect with people, helps me put things into perspective.
I appreciate that Google and all the other tech companies are making my online work easier, so I can spend more time offline connecting. That’s the way I will look at progress, that’s the way I will put my new-found freedom to work.
Wait! What a bunch of malarkey! I just spent the last twenty minutes of my new-found freedom writing this homage to Google and a simple message telling me I forgot to attach a file to my email. Who am I kidding…those precious moments are gone, I can’t get them back now. Oh well, maybe next time.
I really do appreciate technology and how it helps me grow my business and stay connected with the people I meet. I would love to help you connect with your audience on a deeper level and then create a system to stay connected.
