Your brand is about your intention, integrity, inspiration, and initiative. In the first part of the Building Your Brand! series we shared how it all starts with establishing what your intentions are and the feeling you want to evoke. Last week in the second part of the series we talked about building your brand with integrity. Integrity is all about bringing who you are to your brand because you are your brand. We talked about how to protect, understand, and maintain your brand integrity and share even more in our Live in 30! Episode 22 video.

This week we are diving into building you brand with inspiration. Let’s explore who inspires you and how do you want to be an inspiration to others. With so many amazing thought leaders to look to for inspiration we often learn to talk the best of what they have to offer and incorporate that into our business and our brand.

Inspiration is the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative.

Most often we find people as we grow and step into a deeper understanding of ourselves and our businesses. As we develop the values we want to bring to our clients and our industry we connect with people who are serving others in an authentic ay that inspires us to be the best version of ourselves and to bring that to the core of our business. What is it that you bring?

Answer some of these questions for yourself:

  • Who inspires you and why?
  • What is it about them that makes you want to be a better person?
  • How can you incorporate that into your brand, into your being?
  • How do you inspire others?
  • What do you want to inspire them to do?

Your mission, vision, and core values statements for your business are a reflection or a culmination of these questions. Notice that inspiration is all about feeling. When we make people feel good, when we inspire them to do more, be more, and open their minds to possibilities we inspire them. How do you want people to feel when they are in your presence? How do you want them to remember you long after you’ve gone? Be memorable! Be inspirational! Be you!

A few years ago, I went to a conference in my local area. I was one of the last to arrive, I sat in the back, I kept to myself all the time wondering why I was there when I had so much that I needed to do. Near the end of the conference the keynote speaker, Petra Kolber took the stage. It was at that moment that I understood why I was there. I felt like her message was meant just for me. She closed the conference by reading a poem that touched my soul and changed my life forever. That is the kind of inspiration I am talking about.
